About the Journal

Focus and Scope
Journal of Language Studies in Islamic Contexts (JoLSIC) is an international peer-reviewed journal devoted to the study of language, discourse, and communication in diverse Islamic socio-cultural settings. The journal publishes theoretically informed and methodologically rigorous research in linguistics, discourse analysis, applied linguistics, sociolinguistics, pragmatics, and related fields.

JoLSIC welcomes original research that examines language use in Islamic contexts across regions, including but not limited to education, media, public discourse, institutional communication, literature, and digital environments. The journal emphasizes analytical objectivity, critical inquiry, and scholarly rigor. Normative or purely theological discussions without linguistic analysis are not considered for publication.

Peer Review Process
All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process. Each manuscript is initially screened by the Editor-in-Chief to ensure alignment with the journal’s scope and quality standards. Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two independent reviewers.

Reviewers evaluate submissions based on originality, theoretical contribution, methodological soundness, clarity of analysis, and relevance to the journal’s focus. The final decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief.

Open Access Policy

JoLSIC provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports greater global exchange of knowledge. All published articles are accessible without subscription or payment.

JoLSIC does not charge any submission or publication fees.
